Hey I also see that next Tuesday on UNC-TV there is a special on Independent Lens titled "February One. The Story of the Greensboro Four" dealing with the same material as the play North Star. It is scheduled to run from 10-11 pm. So another opportunity to learn about the civil rights movement. Mark your calendar!

Hey there. Sorry I wasn't there this past Saturday. Arsenic is almost open, so there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Here are some links that I have found in my research. Some are fascinating, like this one that has a great "timeline" of Integration efforts, and a link an image of the article denying Joe Holt's bid:

this one is a transcript of a conversation/interview between Joe Holt and Bill Campell:
This one is a local tour company that offers an African-American tour of Raleigh. The Murphey school is one of their stops....perhaps we caould talk to them and take their tour:
BTW, I got a flyer from Triad Stage in Greensboro and their new show sounds like something we all might want to see. It is titled North Star and is by Gloria Bond Clunie. It is about four black men enrolled at NC A&T State University in the 1960's who were refused service at the lunch counter at a Woolworth's. Check out Triad's website for more information-- (www.triadstage.org). It runs Jan 23-Feb 13. I am going to try to see it if I can work out travel plans. They have performances Tues-Sun including matinee on Sunday.
Welcome to the blog for "1960." This blog is open to all the collaborators on the play and is a way to quickly share information with each other. Post images, internet links, text that you've found. And check back often to see what else has been posted!
